Hi everyone,
I spoke to my doctor yesterday about my blood work and
DH's SA. Good news: My tests were all normal and DH
has a strong swim team (LOL!). I must say I have mixed
feelings about these results. Although I am thrilled
that there is nothing wrong, if there had been
something specific wrong, we would know why it has
taken so long and what we are fighting against. The
doctor gave me three options as our next step: 1) Keep
trying as we have been for the last 10 months.
2) Take Clomid for three cycles. 3) Have an HSG to see
if there is any blockage. My doctor recommended option
two. Because of my age he doesn't want us to wait
around too long without taking action and he said
based on my medical history he has no reason to
believe there is any blockage, so he doesn't recommend
spending the money on an HSG at this point. DH and I
have not made up our minds yet and I am interested in
any feedback any of you have about my options. My
"Talk to Me" board is up and running so please feel
free to post.
On a lighter note, I decided to tell one of my girl friends about our TTC adventure. This friend lives in Utah so I don't see her much, but we talk on the phone a lot. She is great! She is one person I feel close enough with to share this experience. She and her DH have a little boy almost 4 years old and they are going to start trying for number two in the next few months.
When I told her we had been TTC for 10 months she laughed and said that they had tried for over a year to conceive their son. She told me her DH went to get a SA the month they got PG. I was shocked! I had no idea that they had tried so long. She hadn't told me for the same reasons I haven't told others yet. It was so great to be able to share this experience and know she understands how I feel! I am so glad I decided to tell her.
On the TTC front, I am on cycle day 32 and no sign of AF yet! I am trying not to get too excited because I O'd late this cycle (day 21), so if AF comes it should be around day 34-35. By the time you read this post I should know one way or the other. I will keep you all updated on my board! Wish me luck!
Positive thoughts to everyone++++++++
Janet
