Hi everyone,
Well, after my last few entries I am sure you are all
sick of hearing about my adventures with my doctors
and insurance coverage, but bear with me. I just got
back from my scheduled appointment with my OB/GYN. I
have been looking forward to this appointment for the
past few weeks and after leaving the office today, I
reflected back on how I had been feeling and wondered
why I was so excited about this appointment. What did
I expect to happen? I guess a little part of me
expected that my doctor would examine me and say,
"Wow, I have found the problem! You have been
miscalculating when you O. Now just go home and BD on
the 17th day of each cycle and you will be PG in no
time!" Unfortunately, that is not exactly what
happened.
Don't get me wrong -- nothing bad happened and I am still very happy with my doctor. I guess this whole TTC thing makes me a little crazy sometimes and I am sure you can all relate! My doctor looked at my charts and said that we have been doing everything right. It looks like I am ovulating and based on the results of my OPKs it appears that my hormone levels are good. He took blood and did a complete examination including a PAP. We should have these results next week. He also gave my DH a referral for a SA which he will do sometime next week. So, basically we will discuss our options further with my doctor when we get the results of these tests.
I have a question for all the ladies out there taking Clomid. My doctor had mentioned that if all of our tests come back normal, he could prescribe Clomid. I am so confused about this because I thought that Clomid was used to help women regulate their cycles and to ovulate. My cycles are 29-30 days and very regular. According to my temperature charts and OPKs I appear to be ovulating. So, what good will Clomid do me??? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated! I asked my doctor and he said that it would help me ovulate "better." I'd love to hear more on the subject, so if my board is up and working, please post.
I decided that I really want to take the guesswork out of this whole process and had asked a couple of the other diary writers about fertility monitors. I had made my decision and was prepared to purchase one at the end of this cycle if we were not PG. I was thrilled to find out that I was one of the lucky people to get offered a fertility monitor from our sponsor ClearPlan Easy. It could not have come at a better time! I am really anxious to start using it! Who knows, maybe we are just timing BD wrong and this could be the answer for us!
Well, that is all for this week! I'm sending out positive thoughts to all of you!
Janet
