I feel like the biggest failure today. Good ole' AF showed up last night. I had been running to the bathroom about 50 times a day for a week, cuz I just had that feeling. Plus, my temps were all over the place -- looks kind-of anovulatory after all. So last night, we took 'lil Kris to my sister's, and went on a date (a side note -- yesterday I was telling my mom that I wanted to go on a date, cuz geez, we never do anything anymore, and she said who are you going on a date with??? I was like, well um, my husband maybe?? DUH MOMMA!!!!). So we get to the movies, it's CD#30, and I tell Kris I have to go to the bathroom again, just to check. Sure enough, she was just starting. Luckily, I was prepared. But we were seeing Toy Story 2, and of course there are tons of kids there. They played an ad at the beginning asking little kids what they want to be when they grow up, and the little girl next to us (about 3), tells her dad she wants to be a boy when she grows up! I couldn't help it -- I started dying laughing! So I got to sit in the theater watching a kids movie, surrounded by kids, dying from cramps and a migraine (they seem to come hand in hand). The movie was pretty good though.
When we went to pick up 'lil Kris, I held my newborn niece. She wasn't too happy about it though -- all she wanted was her Momma. So I had him in my lap, and I was sitting next to my sister, who had baby Kayla in her lap. 'Lil Kris just leaned over and after slapping Kayla a couple of times, decided to growl at her. Kayla, in response, grunted. He kept growling since we laughed, and it was funny. I am kind of glad he's going to be older when we have a baby though, since he doesn't really understand being nice to babies yet. I mean, he's still a baby himself, and thinks he can be rough with a tiny baby as if it were his size. We had gotten a bouncer for her, and while we were putting it together he was taking the toy off to play with. I think if we have a baby when he's 2 he'll be ready. He'll have had plenty of experience interacting with children of all ages by then. Although, we dropped him off at daycare this morning, and I noticed 'lil Kris is just like big Kris -- a complete LONER!!! Sat down and played all by himself, and wouldn't go near the other kiddos.
Hopefully, our kids together will have my personality in that area. I tend to have a loud mouth, and I'll stick up for myself. Kris is sooo quiet, and lets everyone walk all over him. I've told him he needs to learn to speak up for himself. I have to admit, I find it very easy to take advantage of him. For example, all our animal babies. Who do you think begged for them and got them? Me. And who gets up in the middle of the night to take them potty (or to take them outside anytime of day for that matter), cleans their pens, etc? Kris. And if he ever happens to complain, all I have to say is I don't want to. He'll say, "Fine, you are so mean to me," then get up and take them out. I'm sooo lazy, I know. What's funny is that Sierra and Solomon's (the pups) relationship is a reflection of ours . Sierra is a very dominant, in your face all the time, type of dog. She can be downright mean, especially to Kris and Solomon, he he. Solomon, on the other hand, is very quiet and pretty much does his own thing. Sierra used to make him wait to eat 'til she was done. Of course, he was a little pig and tended to eat more than half the food before she even got a bite if she didn't keep him away = )! Funny the way their relationship worked out to be like ours though.
But, back to Kris doing all the work with the animals. He asks me if it's going to be that way with our baby. I told him no, because I plan on breastfeeding, and he won't be able to do that for me. Inside he's probably going Thank God for that, he he!
Well that's enough for me. I think it's time for a heating pad and something salty to snack on.
