Wow, so much has happened since I wrote last!
I quit my job 2 weeks ago. I just decided one day that I didn't want to go back there, so I didn't. I was feeling really stressed, and burnt out on it. I had spoken to my supervisor about how I was feeling, but he was still shocked when I sent him an email saying I wasn't coming back. He even called me at home to find out what was going on! I was stupid though -- I could cash in my first set of stock options on March 1, and I quit around February 18. I wish I could have waited it out, but oh well. Kris's old supervisor told him that I was put as rehirable, even without a notice, which is cool. I was going to do home daycare, but I decided to get a job instead. I just got the job yesterday, and I start on Friday. There is a lot more room for advancement in this new company, and I won't even have to have a degree like I did at the old place. So wish me luck!
Well, I was supposed to have a colonoscopy done, start on birth control pills, and then go see the RE again after a month on the pill. I decided that since we didn't like the RE, I wasn't going back. I'll just deal with my ob/gyn I guess. I did take 3 pills, but then decided that's not what I really want to do. I just can't stand the thought of totally giving up TTC.
I did get my period again after an 11 day cycle, and my mom says it's due to stopping the pill. I'm waiting to see if things straighten out next month before I freak out about it. Ya'll may remember that my short cycles were part of the reason my endo was suspected last summer.
We almost moved to Chicago, and Kris even went on some job interviews up there. But we don't have the money saved up to just up and move right now, what with putting a deposit on apartments + the pet fee, then a moving van, etc. I felt bad telling Kris no, since he's always wanted to live there, but I promised as soon as he gets a degree making more money and we have money saved up we will move. Besides, my whole family was crying and telling me not to move. Since my pregnant sister might have to move right after the baby is born, I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to move as well just now.
We went to our last PRIDE class for the foster parenting, but I have to make up 2 classes and Kris has to make up one. For the last class there were 3 teenagers in the system there to talk to us. They were very polite, and mature from what we gathered. There was a black boy, a Native American girl, and a white boy. One of the prospective adoptive parents asked them how they would feel about being adopted by another race. The unanimous answer was that parents are parents no matter what the race, and if other people have a problem with it then it's their problem. I told them that's a much more mature answer than a lot of adults would give. So that makes me feel better about adopting from another race.
We have another visit from our case worker tomorrow, and classes on behavior management on Monday and Tuesday. Then it will pretty much be finishing getting ready for kids in the house. We need to pick up a toddler bed from my sister, and get a mattress for it. Plus full size sheets for the bottom bunk bed, preferably in pooh. And a dresser, and at least one more car seat, etc, etc. I told my sister she needs to have a shower for us so we can get some of this stuff, since if I were pregnant they'd be having a shower for me = ).
I told Kris the other day I think I just want to adopt, and not do the foster parenting. Then when we get a bigger car, we can foster parent as well. We only have room for two more people in the car, but I'm thinking we won't be able to fit two more car seats in the car. Just one if we're lucky. Hopefully we'll be able to get a minivan soon cuz our car is on it's last legs, I'm afraid!
Well, I better go get ready. I have a doctor's appointment because I have a rash that might be poison ivy. I've never had it before that I know of, but a few months ago I had the same rash that started the exact same way in the exact same place, but spread more and then went away. I'm only outside to take the dogs potty but we live by a bunch of bushes and trees, so you never know = 0
