Hi!
Well I'll be extremely surprised if I get PG this month. I'm on CD#14, and usually 'O' on CD#16. The last time we bd'd was last Saturday night. This is sooo unlike us -- we've only bd'd maybe four times this whole month. I told Kris last night the honeymoon is definitely over. I feel like we've been married 50 years instead of just 7 months yesterday! He's been sick for the past week with some virus though. And he's not getting any better. Yuck! At least he hasn't gotten me really sick. I've felt yucky a couple of times, but not nearly as bad as him. We have found a bright side to this though -- at least his sperm have had plenty of time to build up for this cycle. We were going to bd last night, but he promised me this a.m. instead. We've gotta get working on this baby this month!!!I found out more about foster parenting. We can choose the age and sex of the child, and can have up to six kids. Of course, we don't have room for that many, but we do have room for two. Our dogs will get kicked out of their room (spoiled dogs have had their own room for months = 0), 'lil Kris will move to their room, and his nursery will be for foster children (it's a bigger room, and you can't mix boys/girls in a room). The nursery is done in Winnie the Pooh, and Kris has been wanting to do the other room in Scooby Doo anyways. = ) We've found this really cool toddler bed that's a car that we want for 'lil Kris , so this will be the perfect time to make that transition. We already know we want girls, if we can only stick to an age! On one hand, I'd love to have a little baby. On the other hand, it might be easier to get a pre-schooler, or young school aged child. Decisions, decisions! We're responsible for paying for daycare, so that will play a factor. They do reimburse foster parents for caring for the child, but I don't know how much. That will help with some of the daycare costs, I'm sure.
The agency is sending me an application, and it should be here today or Monday. The training is on Thursday nights, from 6:00 to 9:00, when I'm normally scheduled to work. My supervisor was cool, and went around to everyone on my team that is off on Thursdays, and found someone to work those nine Thursdays for me. In exchange, I give up my Sundays -- the only day Kris and I share off at the moment! But, Kris is bidding on new shift, off on Thursdays, so we'll see.
OHH, and good news from the work front! First, I'm my team's Employee of the Month for January. I'm in a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Best Buy, and a drawing to be able to park in one of the close parking spots. With over 1200 employees, and sharing a parking lot with a smaller company, that is wonderful news, hehe! Second, my supervisor FINALLY put my name in for promotion: woohoo! He said the only thing that would keep me from getting it is if someone in HR has it out for me. Since I haven't made any enemies, I don't see that happening. = ) This will be a 50 cent pay increase as well -- not much, but still a raise. Kris is up for promotion too. He just has to pull one stat up, and he'll be ready. We still do the same job, but it's a higher level, and more money.
Kris has been looking at jobs both in our corporate headquarters, and for other companies. He'll need some training -- some he can teach himself, others he needs to take a few classes. I think he is leaning towards another company. If we have to move, I told him to try to stick close to where I can stay w/ the company. Towards that end, I've bought some books and software to train myself on Excel. That way I can try for an office job within our company, or somewhere else if I have to. My mom is panicking at the thought of her baby moving away! There is only one branch of my family (my mom's brother's family) that doesn't live right here in state. She was like, "But you won't get to see us as much as you'd like." I said, "As much as I'd like, or as much as you'd like???" I love my family, but I think it would be good for us to get away. We're both the youngest children, and both moms feel they need to look out for us. I appreciate the help, but at the same time, feel like we need to learn to stand on our own. Then I'd feel more like an adult, with my own family, than a child who is an extension of their families. If that makes any sense at all. = )
Ok, the novel is long enough, I guess. See, I promised you I'd write more this week, and I definitely have!
