Hello everyone! We survived Hurricane Isabel. Actually it was just like a big storm to us. Our power only went out for about a minute on Thursday night and for about 30 seconds on Friday. There was lots of wind and rain, but since we live on a hill, we weren’t flooded or washed out or anything. A few trees at our apartment complex fell down, but they didn’t hit anything. From watching the news, we probably made out the best. We did have to boil our water for a few days since the water treatment plant in the county next to ours lost power. But we’re over that now too. I’m just a little amazed at how well we faired. The county next to us (we’re about 5 minutes away from the county boarder) had to be evacuated because of chest high water. Also, the mall in downtown DC was flooded, and all you could see were tops of signs and trees. All the monuments are okay, but the parks surrounding them were covered in water. So, as my first hurricane goes, I think we did rather well. :)
This weekend I caught Jeff’s cold, and then some. I had a few days of a high fever, 102, and lots of stuffiness. Ugh. I hate being sick. I barely slept all week. I’m doing tons better now but still pretty stuffy and now I have a nasty cough. Jeff, of course, bounced right back after being sick only a few days. Lucky guy.
We’re still waiting to hear back from the job that Jeff wants to get. Hopefully they were just delayed because of the hurricane. I also have a temp job I’m starting up for about a week tomorrow. Thanks Katie! I also have an interview for an IVF clinic to be their receptionist. If I get the job, I wonder if they do staff discounts on treatment! Wouldn’t that be great?!
On the ttc front, I’m at cd 12 and just waiting to O. I probably will O on Monday. This cycle, since I am sick anyway, I thought I’d try out some Robitussin for my cm. I’m taking 2 tsp, 3 times a day. It has helped with my cough all ready, but I haven’t noticed any great change with my cm. We’ll have to see. I hope I do O on time this time. It would make life a lot less stressful.
That’s all for this week. Have a great day!
Always--Cat
