Catherine's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 23, 2004

Alright, I'm coming up on O time again and I'm determined to have a better attitude about things. I've been doing a lot of soul searching in the past few days and I really need to have a better outlook on this whole infertility thing. Yes, it's hard. But I have a great husband who's will to go the distance with me on this. I have a great job so that we're able to PAY for this stuff. We are in such a good position for fixing this problem. So I guess I shouldn't complain. At least, I'm trying not to! :)

Jeff and I have been talking about what to do next. I have an apt with Dr. K on Sept. 15 to look at our options. We do not want to do injectable IUIs. There just doesn't seem a point to it when we can go straight for the IVF and have more of a guarantee. I hate to say but money is our deciding factor. I would like to talk to Dr. K about maybe having a lap. I would like to know what's going on down there before we get too attached to the IVF scenario. Basically, we've decided to take a break after this IUI if it doesn't work. We'll probably revisit medical help in February or so, maybe with a new practice. Dr. K is moving the end of December and there isn't another doc in that practice that I really like. In any case, we're looking to be doing IVF (if we have to) in the spring of next year. All of this is pending, of course, on if this IUI doesn't take. We'll see sometime this week.

We've both been trying to stay busy and boy is it working. We're trying to fix up our house little by little. We've been focusing on the lighting aspect and besides a few light covers that need replacing, I think we're done with that. We hung our new chandelier in our stairwell this weekend. That has made a huge difference in the house. The old one was broken, rusty and generally icky looking. This one at least works and looks nice!

Not much else going on with me. Just waiting for that 'magical' O time. Thank you to everyone who posted their support on my TTM board!! I loved hearing from all of you and it helped me more than you know. Thank you!

Until next time-
Cat
