Well, AF came and went. So clomid cycle #1 failed. Sigh...I was feeling so hopeful too. But at least it wasn't a 70 day cycle! This one was my shortest ever, with only 26 days. I'm back on clomid 50 mgs this cycle and hopefully I'll have another great ovulation this cycle with better results and the end! I know now to be prepared for an earlier ovulation than I'm used to so I know to get busy earlier this time! :) I’m currently on CD 5 so I’ll probably ovulate sometime next week.
We picked up Cinder last Friday and she is SO cute. We love her. She's been a pretty good girl. Our whole weekend revolved around going to the bathroom. Actually, HER going to the bathroom...or lack there of I should say! Imagine sleepy Jeff and I up early on a very steamy Saturday morning with a bright happy puppy sitting outside waiting for her to go to the bathroom. There we are, yawning and slapping at mosquitoes (are there always that many around?!) and the puppy sitting on the grass chewing on a stick. It has given Jeff and me a lot of time to talk, which has been very nice. But I’d still rather sit inside and play with her than wait for her!
We have a yard, sort of. It's not very big and it's all deck. So we take her out to the little park right behind the house and wait for her to do her business. Needless to say, we spent many, many hours sitting outside waiting for her to "be a good girl" as we tell her. I think she may be getting the idea, but it's rather vague in her little skull. I'm sure she'll get it. Until then, she has going on the piddle pads down so we'll work on moving those closer to the door slowly. After all, she is only 11 weeks old now. So we’re giving her some time to learn this whole potty bit.
Jeff took her to the vet's office for a first puppy visit. Our breeder suggested that we go see the vet within the week so off we took her. The poor thing has a cold, and a parasite! But the vet wasn't worried and gave her some medicine that we have to give her morning at night. It's a paste form and we just squirt it into her mouth, no big deal. We have to go back in a week to see if the medicine has helped. Jeff made the appointment in the evening so I could go with...what a sweetie. :) Apparently all the nurses loved her and she was a big hit.
I'm still working on getting my film developed so you can see her. She's adorable. :)
Jeff is being so thoughtful and sweet lately. Out of the blue, he called me up the other day at work and asked if I wanted to go on a date with him this weekend. He wanted to make me dinner and rent a movie so we can have some down time together. He knew that I have been having a rough time at work (still short staffed) and he thought I could use some TLC. Aww...just thinking about it brings some tears to my eyes, again. I love my hubby. He's so thoughtful.
Anyone have any big plans for the holiday weekend? I briefly thought about going to DC and looking at the new WW2 memorial. But since they are dedicating it this weekend, it's going to be a zoo. So we'll go when it's quieted down so we can reflect on that war. Does anyone have interesting WW2 stories from their parents or grandparents? I have a good one from my grandmother who grew up in England during the war. I'll post it on my TTM board. Feel free to post your own stories after it. :)
This weekend we're planning on going to see Shrek 2. Has anyone seen it yet? I heard it was very funny. We're also going to go for a hike and enjoy the cicadas. They are out in full force here! I was waiting for the bus yesterday and one looked like it was headed for me. I had a book in my hand and I swatted at it because I hate having them on me. The poor thing went whizzing away from my hit and was up and flying drunkenly again. Granted, they all fly drunkenly all the time but this one seemed especially dazed. At least he wasn't hurt. Cinder has eaten about 5 of them already. She thinks they are very fun because they move and she can pounce on them. I'll try and post a picture of a cicada on my ttm board so you can all see them!
Whew, if you got through that…congrats! Until next time!
~Always, Cat
