Whew, it's been so busy here with lots going on. Sorry I haven't written in a while. I always try to write on Wednesdays and the last 2 Wednesdays have been busy. Let me catch you up on what's been going on. I took provera to get AF going, and boy did she show up! I was out of work for 2 days with horrible cramps. It was just so bad with all the back cramps I had too, I could barely move. I was happy she showed up (finally, a 70 day cycle!) but boy, did it hurt. I managed to pull myself out of bed to do my blood work but I don't think I set foot out of my bed that whole time.
Then yesterday, I had my HSG done and spent the day in bed again, but this time with mild cramping. I didn't want it to turn out like AF had this time so I just took it easy the whole day. The procedure wasn't too bad, and the people at Washington Radiology where I went were fabulous! They were so friendly and helpful and talked me through the whole thing. Kudos to them! :) The technician said that everything looked normal, and both my tubes are open so that is really good. I honestly didn't hurt as bad as I thought I would, and I think it was because I was just so relaxed. I really enjoyed seeing the die flow through my tubes and seeing inside my body. That always fascinates me.
I took Clomid this cycle through days 3-7. I haven’t really noticed a difference but I did realize while I was taking them that I was fairly cranky. I can just imagine what’s going to happen when my dose is upped! No other side effects from it, though. Just waiting on that ovulation! I think I might have some bad news, though. I think Dr. K is moving practices. :( So now I think I’m going to have to find myself a new doctor because he was the only one that I wanted to see at this practice. But I’m not excited about moving to a new practice at all. Maybe they’ll hire another good doc and I’ll feel comfortable with them. But still! How frustrating…
There's a big hoopla at my work this week. They asked our CEO to step down and our founder has come back to be acting CEO and to find a new one. So of course everyone in the office is shaking in their shoes because our founder is walking through each department to find out what could be bettered. I'm not worried about my job at all. They can fire me or not, I know jobs come and go. I figure I do my job well and I always have the top numbers so I don't think they would have a complaint about me. Things are going to go through a lot of changes around here.
The cicadas are coming! I guess here they have the 17-year variety of cicadas. You know, the ones that live under ground for 17 years and then come out to breed and die. Of course, it has to be this year that they come out, the year that we moved here! There is supposed to be over 1 million insects per acre. Can you imagine?! Jeff and I figure that we've been through a natural disaster (Hurricane Isabel) and now a plague is coming. I figured all we have left is a flood, an earthquake and drought to round out our natural disasters. We just hope that we don't get them any time soon! I haven't seen any cicadas out yet but I'll let you know all about them when they show up.
Jeff has invited the missionaries from our church over for dinner tomorrow. I'm happy to feed them but I'm a little embarrassed about the state of our house. We still have boxes everywhere. I would have postponed the missionaries coming over but there is an Elder (the title of our missionaries) from Germany and that's where Jeff went on his mission so he wanted to talk to him. So I just have to clean the front room up as much as I can and they can wander through our boxes like we've been doing for the past month.
Yes, we still haven't unpacked, or even finished cleaning the kitchen! You must think that Jeff and I are picky with our house and I'm here to confirm that we are. Believe me, if you had seen the state of the kitchen when we got there, you would have been picky too. But at least it's getting clean. Yay!
Until next week!
~Always, Cat
