April 21, 2004
A lot has been going on here, including a major staff shortage at work. It seems like everyone and their dog came down with some sort of crud. Many times we have been down from 4 people to 2. And we receive somewhere around 600 calls a day. Needless to say, we get swamped! Unfortunately, since everyone came to work sick before they felt bad enough to stay home, the rest of us have gotten sick too...including me. I honestly think I'm just worn out because I feel more tired than anything. Being short staffed, plus trying to get this house all put together, and my parents visiting, has put a strain on my sleep! I took the day off yesterday and tried to sleep as much as I could. It was nice but I could use about 3 weeks of those kinds of days! Couldn't we all?
Anyway, my parents and I had a really nice time for their visit. They helped us fix things and clean. It was really nice to have them here. I enjoyed just being with them and seeing them again. Their visit was too short. We didn't get to do hardly anything that we wanted to do. We did get to go downtown and walk along the tidal basin and look at the few cherry trees that were still flowering. My dad and I rented a paddleboat and enjoyed paddling around the basin looking at the Jefferson Memorial. That was a lot of fun and something that Jeff and I plan on doing again next year, but this time in the peak blossom time.
I did talk to Dr. K last Wednesday about my lack of period and Jeff's second SA results. He gave me provera to get my period going. I started taking it on the 15th, and I have a few more days left of it. Hopefully my period will start sometime next week. This has been a terribly long cycle. I'm looking forward to getting my testing done. I did stop temping because what was the point? My temps were all over the place anyway so it wasn't really worth it.
Jeff's SA results were fine. Dr. K was pleased that the morphology went up. He said that the concentration was good and we didn't need to worry about the pear shaped cells he had. They shouldn't affect anything at all.
We are still cleaning out our kitchen, almost 3 weeks later. I hate this because we are still living out of boxes. I don't want to put anything away until things get cleaned up but the kitchen is just taking so long! All we have left is the walls, the floors and the counter tops so I could probably start putting things away, but it's just so much easier to pull all the boxes in and unload in the kitchen. Right now the floor is so sticky and gross that I wouldn't want to put anything in there. My hope is that we get this all done this weekend and we can start moving some stuff in! And then I can get all the boxes out of my dining room and my living room. Wish us luck! We have cleaning the bathroom upstairs (yay, hot water!) and the computer room. Shows where our priorities are, huh? :) But I’m glad to have at least 2 rooms done. 2 down, 6 more to go!
Jeff and I are slowly working our way up to getting a puppy! We figure every week we're going to go to the pet store and buy something like a bed or bowls or something. Then, when we have everything, we can go ahead and get our dog. I'm so excited for this! This week we bought a bed. It's been so long since I've had a puppy, does anyone have suggestions for things that we absolutely must have? So far I've got basics of bed, collar, leash, crate, bowls...but that's all I can think of right now. Can anyone help me with this list? I know I'm forgetting something. Oh, add toys to that. :)
Until next week!
