I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I worked 12 hours on Thursday but I still spent time with both sides of my family. We had a very busy extended weekend. Thursday started it off with two Thanksgiving feasts and luckily, they weren't the same meal. Friday, DH had to work (he works in desktop support for a major credit card company) due to it being the busiest shopping day of the year. I had taken the previous night off work so I was up early on Friday and decided to bake. I worked at a Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Company in high school and after graduation for six years. Now everyone assumes it would be safe to say I can bake, right??? I thought so too, but this was the baking day of horrors! My mother gave me one of those mason jars with all the dry cookie ingredients inside so I started with that. I would say the baking part went fine but they just did not taste right ... hmmm, I thought. I called my mom later on and she proceeded to tell me my aunt had given her the mason jar cookie present two years ago!!!! Next I decided to make a new recipe called "Death by Chocolate" cookies. These cookies were really easy except my oven went funky and the tops were burnt and the bottoms were not done!!! Needless to say I decided to call it quits for the day!
DH's grandparents' 25th wedding anniversary party was on Saturday. I waited till the last minute to shop for a present but lucked out by going to Hallmark. The main highlight of the party was they received four duplicate cards, two duplicate joined coffee sets and almost all of the presents were from Hallmark. My MIL did a fabulous job on the party. I was a bit upset with her, though. I mentioned to her several times that I could help her with the food or even cleaning her house and she always declined, saying that she did not need any help. She announced to everyone at the party that my two SILs came over bright and early Saturday morning to help her with the food and the house. I was fuming!! I did not say anything though, because it does not do any good!
Today (Sunday) was yet another Thanksgiving meal. My dad's family always has it the Sunday after Thanksgiving to accommodate the other side of everybody's family. It was actually very nice. My sister had it at her house. There are not many small kids left in our family except for my nephews Alex and Ethan and I also have a cousin with three children but they seldom come to family gatherings. The word must be out we are having difficulty TTC because only one person asked if I was expecting yet and I said "Not yet" and handled it very well. The best part of the day was when Alex was rocking with me in his favorite chair holding my hand and sucking the fingers on the other hand. I would give anything for a picture of that.
There is absolutely nothing to report of the TTC front. I am on the downhill slope with the 2WW. I am pretty positive I did not ovulate this month but I could be wrong. If I am wrong (which I hope I am) we might have timed it right with a little BD! I will keep my fingers crossed. I am eager to start using my monitor this cycle. I just put batteries in it this past weekend. I need to read the instructions soon so I know what I am doing. DH really embarrassed me this weekend. We were grocery shopping and when we got to the counter I told him I need AAA batteries for my "thing." I did not want to blurt out "I need AAA batteries for my fertility monitor." He thought this was the opportune time to make people think I was referring to a sex toy. I was about to kill him! Luckily he did not come right out and say something explicit. I will get him back though!
Good luck to everyone on the 2WW!! Lots of positive vibes to everyone!
Hugs!
Carmajo
