Carmajo B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 6, 2001

Can you believe this, dh's insurance is changing on 12-31-01!?! My ob doctor is not a physician on Humana Choice Healthcare plan for GE. I am dumbfounded! I have primary insurance but it is 80-20 and they pay very little when it comes to usual and customery charges. I will be 21 weeks this Friday and will probably have to switch doctor's unless my doctor magically says he will join this healthcare plan. I hate to think 20% will make a difference but a friend with the same health insurance had to pay $1700. out of her pocket with my primary insurance. As of right now it will make a difference because I don't plan on going back to work but maybe a few weeks to use up some of my paid leave and vacation after FMLA leave.

I know I should not complain yet be thankful that I am pregnant, healthy and even have health insurance, right?! My hormones are raging and I could cry at the drop of a hat so this was not a good time to spring this insurance change on me. Quit complaining Carmajo!

As for an update, I am growing outward as we speak! I gained an inch around my tummy over night, no kidding! I feel great! Little aches, pains and muscle pulls but overall this is what they call the "honeymoon phase." I have a regular appointment on Friday and will schedule another u/s. I am feeling the baby more frequently and often listening with my baby prenatal listening device to kicks, swishing noises and even the heartbeat! The baby has to the laying just right but I can hear the thumping noise that sounds like a horse galloping.

Well I meant for this entry to be short and mainly to vent about my insurance and I stretched it out. Seeing that I still don't have a diary built at pregnancytoday.com I thought I would give a short update also.

Love and hugs,

Carmajo & baby!
