A day of mourning for the nation
It is a sad day for many across the nation. Many people lost loved ones in the tragedy of September 11th. I hold those affected by the tragedy in my daily prayers
A date set for surgery
Its official- my husband is due to have his varicocele surgery on September 20th at 10 am. They said to expect to be there for no less than 8 hours. I am nervous but yet excited to think that maybe with some luck and the grace of GOD, my husband may actually get me pregnant! Of course, we wont know anything for at least 3 months. The wait is going to kill me.
Living at the Country Club
My husband and I have always joked and called my parents home the country club. When we lived in our townhouse, we often went over there for Sunday dinners and swimming when the weather permitted. Now, it is officially true! Since living with my parents, my Mom insists upon cooking dinner every night and even doing my laundry. I told her the first time she did the laundry it was off limits, so now she will sneak in while I am at work and grab some clothes and then lay them at the end of the bed. I want to be mad but how can I????
The new house
Our expected completion date is still set for the end of October. This week they hung all the drywall and all the carpet and cabinets came in. The builder told us once the drywall was up, it would be about 30 days to completion. I cant wait, I am so excited!!! I have been trying to hold off buying anything new but I just cant resist anymore. Ebay, here I come!!!
Addictions
The title sounds really bad, but its not! I have 2 terrible addictions these days, Ebay and Big Brother 3. Does anyone watch Big Brother?? It is killing me not to be able to see it until tomorrow. I cant wait to find out who will be evicted this week. Any takers????
I learned in the last month that you can find some awesome buys on ebay. I always was a big fan, but this month, it has magnified. I did a random search for Pottery Barn (ok, my third addiction) and I found a ton of stuff. I just received my new duvet cover and I am in love- its washed denim and its even got a fringe. Its so soft and comfy, I cant wait to put it on the bed. Which leads me to my next topic.
Decorating, there’s not enough hours in the day
I have been so busy coming up with ideas for the new house, that I cant seem to get any sleep. I spend hours each night when I get home watching HGTV and going through magazines to get decorating ideas. I finally made one decision though. After my duvet cover purchase on ebay, I have decided to do the master bedroom in denim and old quilts. I ordered my new bedroom set from Pottery barn (those who are familiar, the Thomas bed in white) and a big huge chair that has a denim slip cover. My plan is to hang a chair rail that has some kind of pattern in it, to paint it white and then wash it with a colored paint to get an antique look. The bottom half of the walls I want to use the denim effect on them- Ralph Lauren has a great kit that even includes the stencil to make it look like it has stitching. Now I am stuck on what to do with the windows. Any ideas are very welcome. I am thinking about either roman shades or even shutters. I love to decorate!!!
Congratulations to many
For all those ladies that have achieved their dreams of motherhood this week, congratulations on your accomplishment. Have a happy and wonderful 9 months ahead!
Hugs to all,
J
