November 13, 2000
Thursday was a fun day for the family. First, I woke up with the flu. Then between 4 and 7 a.m. I threw up about nine times. Al was feeling OK so he went to work, even though I was yacking my guts out. Which was OK, I told him to go. I called to tell him I was feeling a little better (I'd stopped throwing up), and he promised he'd take Alexandria so I could get some sleep. I was horribly exhausted. I spent the entire day lying on the floor, not doing anything. To make matters more enjoyable, I had AF cramps the entire day! Insult to injury, I guess. And the coup de grace was that by the time Al got home, he was horribly sick, too. He said he was sicker than I was, but he couldn't have been, he wasn't throwing up. Ha, ha. He went to lie down straight off. I could have killed him, but I was in no shape to drag him out of bed.
I missed class, a real bummer, since it appears we did some very new stuff. I wondered if I should go, but I didn't, since I didn't want to spread the wealth. In some cases, sharing isn't a good thing. There have been times I've been sicker, but I would just go to bed. This time, that wasn't an option.
I think I have reached a conclusion as to what I am going to do, but I've felt that way before. Is this the last time I'll make up my mind? Probably not. Sometimes for fun I tell people I am going to major in mass communications and forget this chemistry stuff. It sometimes even sounds reasonable!
Well, my fingers are frozen (our computer room isn't heated), and I still have work to do. It's some computer programming stuff. I hope I can get it to work!
