Candace W's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
November 6, 2001
I took a week off last week, because there wasn’t much that I had to say. I’ve been in a holding pattern, just working on getting things all into place before the fun really starts.
I have been doing a lot of research on the internet (haven’t we all at one time or another?) and I now have Al on a regimen of vitamins. I hope to have his swimmers in top shape once we get down to business! He takes (this is just based on what reading I’ve done, and a little guesswork on my part) Vitamin E, zinc, B complex (with Vitamin C also), Coenzyme Q10 (30 mg, 1x/day), and L-arginine. I don’t know any of the other amounts offhand, just the expensive one, ha! Al won’t go for things that he considers too exotic, so I guess the saw palmetto and the ginseng are out. Oh, well. I will think about them, though. If anyone else is interested in this (and especially if you have suggestions and ideas!), drop me a line on my board.
I, myself, am planning on taking a few herbs and whatnot when the time is right for me! I am on a regular woman’s multivitamin right now. I will switch to prenatals around January. I also am planning on taking some evening primrose oil. And then there’s the Vitex. I am not sure what else would help, I don’t think I need to do too much. I’m pretty low maintenance compared to Al!
Today I did one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I went and spoke with the department chair of the chemistry department about how my classes were going, and what my options were. I am going nuts with everything! I am basically failing all of my graduate level courses. I don’t want to study (I am so burned out) and I just don’t do the work. It’s really terrible. I used to be a dedicated student, but now all I want to do is stay home and raise kids! I do have some options, some more attractive (to me) than others. What I would ideally like to do, is keep going to school (getting paid, being a TA), get pregnant. I would then quit when I have the baby. And in about 7 years, I would reapply, and then finish my education. I want, no, I *need* to raise some more children. And I don’t want to leave it to Al. It damn near broke my heart to leave Alexandria in daycare, and I just love nursing her so much, that I can’t *not* do that with the next few. (Provided everything works out, God willing.) I know by the time the youngest turns 4 or so, I will be ready to go back to school, and I will be more mature, and more willing to work. I am just trying to handle everything at once, and it seems like nothing ever gets done to my satisfaction. I am a lousy student, a lousy wife, and a lousy mommy. I try my hardest, but I can only be stretched so thin. I hope I can convince Al that this is what’s best. He wants me to continue school, now. I don’t think I have the determination to do it now. What can I say? We are going to be discussing this at length in the next few days, and I hope we can reach a decision that pleases both of us (in other words, exactly what I want!).
I also have a crazy question, I hope someone can help me. I have been tracking my temps using TCOYF software (as I mentioned before) and according to it, I am pregnant. Well, this is all fine and dandy, but I know I am not! It suggests that my luteal phase is really long. Well, I guess it is. I’ve had high temps ever since…well, just click the link at the bottom, I have my chart posted there. I have heard about a short luteal phase being bad, but not a long one. If anyone knows what’s going on, let me in on it!
Keep trying!
Candace
