Candace W's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
October 10, 2000
I am never sure how to begin these entries, so I will just dive in with what has been going on. I have a full schedule this week, so I am keeping pretty busy. Yesterday Al had a doctor appointment. He was put on a different drug to manage his diabetes, because he thought the Glucophage was making him itch. Well, the new medicine gave him a horrible stomachache last night. He was really tired today, since he didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night. I feel badly for him, but at least he can get to bed when he's tired!
I got my hair cut today. I had Susie, my hairdresser, take off about seven inches of it. It is now resting on top of my shoulders. It's nice not to have so much hair. I hope when I style it, it looks half as good. If Al wouldn't kill me, I'd have had her color it. I have always loved dark red hair, but Al likes it just the way it is.
We get Thursday and Friday off this week. It's something called "fall break." Give me a break! We started school here at SEMO almost two full weeks earlier than every other major university in the United States, and they give us this stupid "fall break." I'd rather have started the semester a little later, than this. Not that I am complaining that I do get these days off, it's just that I would rather have some other time off. A friend and I are planning on going out to lunch (with Alexandria, which should be a riot) on Friday. I can't even begin to imagine how many other people's lunches we' ll ruin.
My sister is due with her fourth baby on the 14th. I doubt she'll tell me any of the details, since we're really not all that close. I'll get to hear everything from my mom. My sister and I have some major differences in child rearing. Just a quick example: I don't think it's appropriate to tell your 3-year-old (when he throws his Cheetos on the floor in the car in a fit of anger, because his mom dropped one), "Well, f*ck you then, Brandon!" but that might just be me. I get funny ideas like that from somewhere.
I expect to O any day now. I am getting some cramping right now, so it could be happening now. I need to make a little chart or something and keep track of my symptoms. Maybe I'll set up Outlook to do that. I have never used it, so it could be fun!
Good luck this week, ladies!
Candace
