Candace W's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 17, 2002

5 weeks, and 2 days

TCOYF software finally relented, and declared me pregnant. I took a pregnancy test (my last, I hope for a while!) on Monday night, and got two nice dark lines. I can’t say enough good about the Answer type PG tests. I have taken most types (the head count is 9 now, oh my gosh!), and none of them gave me that dark of a line. Granted, I wasn’t as far along when I took all the other ones, but Answer worked well for my first PG, too. From now on, I’m sticking with that brand!

I also have made my first midwife appointment. I will be seen by a nurse (I think!) first, for a little orientation class called “Great Expectations”. There, I’ll find out my due date, they will take a medical history, talk about my prior birth/baby experience, give me a video, and lots of freebies. They also will sign me up for blood work, and other tests I need to take. I am looking forward to that, which is on May 8th. I also have my first real prenatal appointment scheduled, and that is on May 14th. I imagine it will be a quick checkup, blood pressure, pee in a cup, maybe listen for the heartbeat, and measure me. I am also really, really looking forward to that one!

And, that is about all that I want to cover. I feel a little queasy sometimes in the middle of the day, and my boobs are a little more sore than when I last wrote. Al is very excited, and relieved, more so than he originally let on.

Well, with that, I will leave you guys. It’s been wonderful getting to know you, and I wish you all nothing but the best of luck in TTC. I will keep an eye on everyone, and keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Best of luck and…
