Candace W's Diary Entries

T-1 and CD 11

How is everyone this week? I forgot to mention this, but I am really happy that the diaries page was cleaned up. It looks so much cleaner. Now, we just need some more new writers…

Al is recovering nicely from his surgery. I am grateful that nothing awful happened, and he now says he’s even dreaming again, since he’s sleeping well at night. He went to his post-op appointment today, and they removed even more packing (he went in a week after the surgery and they removed his splint and a lot of the packing), and picked around in his nose some. Apparently, it hurt. He seemed to handle it okay, though. He can now actually breathe through his nose now.

I went this Monday for a check-up with a nurse practitioner. (My midwife wasn’t in, and it wasn’t that big of a deal.) I (oh, this is going to be graphic) was having some not-so-normal cm, it was thick and yellow, and I wanted to get it checked out. Last month, my cm didn’t turn ew, so I wanted to make sure there wasn’t an infection. There was no odor, but I wanted to check anyway (in vain hopes that my insurance does cover something, after all!).

Anyway, to make a long story shorter, there was nothing wrong, except my cells looked a little elongated, which can be due to excess consumption of refined sugar. Who me? I’ve been trying to cut out the sugar, and drink a lot more water, so that should take care of that. Of course, I am a total carbohydrate addict, so this is easier said than done. Also, I downed about 5 cookies today, and a huge plate of pasta. I don’t drink caffeine (or any soda, for that matter), so I think I’m allowed my carbs.

I allowed myself a little fun the other day. I bought some goodies at the store. Yes, a box of OPKs as well as two boxes of pregnancy tests. I got the First Response Early Response ones. I know I’ve read bad things about them (they give a false something…is it positive or negative?). Anyway, I couldn’t resist the two-for-one price. Since I bought them, I’ve been looking at them every day, sometimes more than once a day, reading the box, touching them, like they’re some sort of talisman. I haven’t allowed myself to open them, yet. I am going to go nuts in the two week wait, I can tell already.

I’ve also been “practicing” with some OPK sticks…I’m waiting to test for the magic o. Of course, I’m set to o until the 8th, but I’ve already peed on two sticks (one yesterday, and one this morning). There must be something about women and peeing on sticks. I don’t know, ever since I got them, I’ve been dying to pee on them. So, I basically “pissed away” two of them. Keep me away, yikes! I do want to see what a positive looks like, though. Maybe I can keep the rest of them under wraps until then. I told myself I can always buy more, but wasting them just isn’t right. Hee hee.

Congrats to Jerri and Jenn on their pregnancies!
