It has been a few weeks since I have posted.
Things are still going well as far as I know. I have an appt. on Friday for my first official OB appt. I am officially 10 weeks.
Now as a person who has TTC for 2 + years I feel that it is not my place to discuss early pregnancy symptoms in depth b/c "I asked for them" but here it goes. The fatigue has improved dramatically but now I am having headaches and I have never been a headache person before. My BB are huge. Almost embarrassing big. I have been a bit chesty before so you can only imagine. I hate to wear sweaters to draw attention and my button down shirts are popping at the middle area. While I try to cherish every day of this miracle, I can't wait to come out and tell everybody and start wearing maternity clothes.
Oh yeah, the other problem. Bloated! I now have 3 boxes of cereal high in bran. The multi bran CHex is the best yet. As a lady at the grocery store said, "Funny how women take care of themselves when there are pregnant". We should be taking better care of ourselves all the time!!! But Frosted Flakes cereal taste much better than Bran cereal.... duh!
This time has been a bit stressful in the sense of worries. I am hoping to take time off after the baby is born to stay home and lactate but my DH is not stable in work at the moment. He is on disability and if you can believe this we just found out that we don't have health insurance. He carries our benefits and when he went out on leave some goofball cancelled our medical insurance. This happened last summer but not until I received a bill for my 2/04 did I know that we were dropped months ago. So who paid for my Oct and December visits? The insurance company. Apparrently it was a mistake at his human resource office (THEY ARE ALWAYS MAKING MISTAKES). I asked him to file a complaint with his union because they have made one too many mistakes. I really feel that they are 1)incompetent or 2) harrassing him. So now we can have insurance once we pay the premiums for the past 8 months. NICE. Like we are just rolling in the $$$. Not a bill we expected to receive especially with his income cut.
This time of PG makes me really think about the future, earning potential, retirement, college expenses. All those grown up things. Of course talking about money is a favorite thing for couples to do,,,right?? ;)
Oh a lighter note my son asked me out of the blue "Mom, are you pregnant?". I just stammered. We were going to tell him after the 10 week OB visit. I told him most likely yes but we are going to confirm it at the doctors. I asked him how he knew...he said he just had this feeling. (Most interesting because many of the Latinos I work with believe that siblings "sense" the unborn baby and act differently when the mom is pregnant, even little little ones). He wanted to know why I didn't tell him sooner. So cute. We looked at pictures of the fetus and he again said, You should have told me. My sweetie. It felt so good to get the cat out of the bag. Later that day when we went to play miniature golf he pointed out a Babies R Us. I think he is happy. He didn't seem upset or anything. Whew! Didn't know how he would take it.
I guess I should go to bed so I get my rest.
So happy for Jen. Congrats to her.. could it be twins?
