Merry Christmas to Everyone!!!
This week has been a little crazy. My dad and his wife are coming to stay with us this weekend to do our Christmas with them and my nephew is staying with us all weekend. I've been cooking and cleaning all week! Tonight is our Christmas party for the kids at work. I scored big because I have arranged for Santa to come to the party with the fire department on a fire truck. DH's parents got us mattresses for Christmas, and they are coming on Thursday. So we have to rearrange the house for new mattresses right before we have company.
My sister has confirmed she is having a girl. She is beginning to show signs of early labor, though, so the doctors have put her on bed rest. She decided on a name for the baby, Angelina, named for the person who will be the child's favorite aunt (ME! I'm her only aunt!). My sister has been seeing a doctor who specializes in early deliveries and the doctor told her that it is not a genetic thing, it has to do with my sister's body and that my pregnancy will not be affected by this in any way. That made me feel better. The doctor also told my mother the same thing I've been saying for months: My step-dad and she can no longer smoke around my sister. The doctor told my mom that second hand smoke does as much harm as if the person were smoking.
As far as our baby quest goes, this week we had to put a temporary hold on TTC because I got a severe kidney infection. The doctor said something about the hospital at first, but decided to put me on really strong antibiotics. At least now that's cleared up. I was at DH's parents last night, and the fire department rode Santa around on the fire truck singing Christmas carols and Dh's mom and I stood outside and watched. DH's dad said he'd just wait until next year when he could take his grandchild out to watch. Oh how I hope we have a baby by next year!!!
Finally, I am going through a major nesting mode where I want to totally re-decorate the house. I went and picked out paint last week to paint our bedroom furniture and once my father and his wife visit this weekend, the guest room is history!!! I'm not going to decorate the guest room as a nursery just yet, I think it'd would jinx us. So, it's just going to sit there, empty, while I decorate everything else I can get my hands on. Well, I hope everyone is having good luck in the baby department. It'd be nice to have a whole bunch of Christmas babies!!!
Waiting for the Fertility Fairy,
Angela
