Amber's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

July 9, 2002

Well here I am 16 weeks and 2 days. Really hard to believe. I'm so excited, yet still scared to death. Things are going well, as far as I know.

I went ahead and rented the dopplar from Babybeat. I love it! I'm addicted to it. I listen to my little peanut everynight before I go to bed, every morning when I wake up and when I get in from work. I am hooked! Thank you to all of you who suggested that I do so. It's def worth the $$.

Well my last Dr. visit was, well lets just say a major joke. My DH and I got up early on the 5th to get to the Dr. apt on time. Well there is a ton of road construction so that slowed us down and etc. THen we get to the office and Dr. D had been called out on an emergency C-section. So I had to see an RN. Never again will that happen. I'll just reschedule and come back. We go in the room and they took my urine sample and did their thing and said that it was fine. Proceeded to rinse out the cup with little bit of water and then handed it back to me. Ok, I'm sorry but I think that is gross. I sure didn't think that I would have to reuse the cup again. So I asked for a new cup and if looks could kill. Let's just say, that I wouldn't be typing this right now. They she has me lay back on the table and is pushing around on my tummy and measured and did her thing. Next she went to find the heartbeat. She couldn't find it. I was really starting to get scared. I told her where I always found it, and she wouldn't listen. Well I had just listened to it before we left so I knew Peanut was just fine in there. (or so I thought) so she went back and forth over my tummy 3 or 4 times, then she found it. She said that it was mine. Ok, if my heart rate was 143, I believe that I'd be having some serious problems, don't you ? Uh. So anyway, it was gone again, I finally asked her if I could try and I found it right off the bat. Now go figure. My DH was really getting upset with her. She didn't know her rear end from a whole in the ground. She was not professional at all, and when I would ask a question, it was like I was bothering her. So, needless to say, I will never see her again!

Then yesterday, I was having some sever pains in my tummy. Me and the girls from work went to lunch and then came back. When I got back to work, I went and used the restroom, only to find bloody show. So here I go again! I was really trying not to panic. So I called the Dr. They told me to come in right away. I seen Dr. S this time. She was great. She said that my cervix was wonderful. That is was strong, completely closed and the baby was snug in there. BUT that I had a really bad bladder infection on top of a yeast infection. I know, just what you wanna hear. Sorry, but thats why I haven't been able to sleep at night and the pains in my tummy. So she thinks that the blood came from a small tear from intercourse. I'm like Uh Ok. So poor Dh, they said no BD for 2-3 weeks. But they gave me a perscription and I can tell a difference. I'm not running to the bathroom every 25 minutes and I actually got a good nights rest last night.

I still haven't heard back from anyone on when I should be moving to the pregnancy diaries. I have no clue. I've sent them several e-mails and nothing. I hate to keep updating here. I'm hoping it'll be soon tho.

Good luck to those of you in the 2 weeks waiting period. I wish you all well.

Aimee, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I was so hoping that this was it for you. Good luck with what you and Kevin decide to do.

Take care.

Good luck to all of you!

Amber
