Well ladies, each and every one of you must have given me the best luck possible. Who knew all these months all I needed was your positive vibes and prayers to conceive? On Aug. 25 my temps were still high and DH ordered me to "pee on the stick" immediately. (He's so funny!) The line was very faint, but there was definitely a line there nonetheless. I went to the doctor later that afternoon for confirmation due to the fact that I'd been having pains on my left side for a little more than a week. They confirmed that I was testing positive but commented that I must be really early in the PG because the line was so faint. Well, during the weekend the pain got worse and I found myself calling the doctor's office again first thing Monday morning. They had me come in to get a blood test so they could see where my hCG levels were at. The results came in the next day at 167 which they said was fine for my stage of PG, but way too early to do a sonogram. AAACCKKKK!!! I wanted to tear my hair out.
At this point, DH's and my joy is guarded until we finally get to see LB's heartbeat on the screen safely implanted in the uterus. The doctor wants to rule out ectopic pregnancy because of the pains I'm having. I'm trying not to panic, but it is constantly on my mind and I'm having a hard time truly enjoying the fact that we are finally PG. DH says I'm being ridiculous and that I've already carried one child to term successfully and I should not worry, but we all know that isn't necessarily true since every pregnancy is unique. My sonogram is scheduled for Sept. 8 so I will let you know how it goes. Sept. 8 is my 25th birthday, so I guess it will either be a fantastic birthday or a devastating one.
DH and I rented "The Miracle of Life" the other night. It was really fascinating. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend renting it. I didn't know that out of the 250 million sperms released during ejaculation, only 50 actually make it to the egg!! It's a wonder any of us are here.
DS, Ethan, had strep throat last week, poor thing, but is doing much better now. He just started a new preschool and loves every moment of it. He is such a doll, and the one thing that keeps me pushing past my worry and moving on with my day.
Hope this entry finds all of you happy and content with life. +++++++++ vibes to each and every one of you and lots and lots of ~~~~***~~~**~~*~*~~~**~~*~ baby dust!!!
Love,
Amanda
