Alisa L's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 6, 2002

Well Af should be here any day now and it will be on to cycle #2 of injections and IUI. I am finding myself faced with a few delemas though. I have been doing alot of research on metafomin to treat PCOS and have read many good things about it. I am wondering if I should stop with the injections and find a dr who will try met with me and see what that does for me. I have read several articles that women with PCOS who did not O before on their own have Oed after a month or two on met, also women who clomid did not work for have gotten pg using the combination of met and clomid. You see the injections treat a symptom of PCOS (annovulation) but Metaform treats the cause of PCOS and therefore will help with all the symptoms as well. It is like if someone has strep and you give them throat lozangers, that might treat the symptom (sore throat) of the strep but it will not treat the cause of the problem (bacteria). Only an antibiotic made to treat that bacteria will not only relieve the sore throat but help your body fix the problem that is causing it to begin with.

I am just so confused. I don't even know where to begin with this whole thing. If anyone has experience with PCOS could you please post on my TTM board and let me know what you think.

Other than this new problem things are going good. I made it through the Holidays without any major breakdowns, I felt like it a few times. I hope that everyone else had a great Holiday season. Now I am just looking forward to our vacation in February. The count down begins 40 days and counting lol.
