More about my trip for those interested

August 12, 2007

I want to post about my trip while it is still fresh on my mind. It didn't seem like July 20th would ever come but it finally did. I began packing for our trip about two weeks ahead of time and I spent time adding and taking things out of the suitcases over the two weeks. By that last week we pretty much had everything that we needed. I got my hair done the Wed before we left and I got my nails done the Thursday before we left. That Friday we both went to work. Raymond worked an earlier shift so that he could get off earlier and I got off an hour and 30 minutes earlier. We dropped our car off at our church to stay locked up in their parking lot and we called a cab to come and pick us up. It was only a 8 minute drive to the airport. I for some reason did not bring a jacket on the plane and nearly froze to death. They ran out of blankets. We took a redeye flight but I couldn't really sleep because I was too cold. We had one lay over and then we made it to Philly and from there we drove to New Jersey. Once we got there Tracey and my mom were there to pick us up. We stopped by my sister's house first and she walked us around and introduced us to her husband and children. Then we went out to eat and on to my mom's house where we stayed the duration of our trip. My mother insisted that we stay in her room and she slept on the couch. it was exciting seeing all of the people that I had talked to on the phone and through e-mails. I finally got to meet my brother Karma for the first time also. I felt right at home. At no time did I feel like a stranger. On Sunday we went to my mother's church and after ward we went to a family BBQ and I got to meet "all" of the family Monday we rested and just went to the Mall Tuesday we rested and just drove around looking at the scenery Wednesday we went to dinner at one of my sister's house Thursday we went to New York. That was an experience for tourist we did pretty well and didn't get lost. We saw a lot of sights and did a lot of walking around and riding the subways. It was sad visiting ground zero but it's something that we needed to see. New York is a little different from what I imagined but we are glad that we went. Friday we rested Saturday we went to Six Flags with most of the family and we spent all day. Sunday we went to my Mother's church Monday we rested Tuesday we went to Cow Town (indoor/outdoor swap meet) Wednesday we went to a revival at my sister's church and I did a praise dance Thursday we went to Philly and saw a lot of things and I bought my stepdaughter Chanelle a Channel purse. Friday was a sad day because that's the day that we had to come back home to reality and work. I cried and my mom cried and I really didn't want to leave. This past week I've been in a real funk because I just didn't want to be at work or in Los Angeles. I'm feeling better now but my prayer now is that it will be part of God's will for us to move to New Jersey in the near future. I know that God has his reasons for having us so far away from each other so I'm trying to let God lead and we follow.. If you have made it down here thank you and I hope that you will continue to follow our journey......
