Open and Clear to go
January 31, 2007
CD#9
Hello everyone once again. I want to shout a CONGRATS to Tiffany on her BFP. Wishing you all the sticky dust in the world. I am so happy you conceived on your own. Sometimes, God does work on his own time line. A lot has happened in the last week, so this will be a long one.
Hysterosalpinogram (aka HSG)
I actually am sitting here at work about an hour after my test. It wasn't horrible, but EXTREMELY uncomfortable. For those of you who do not know what this test is here we go, for those who do read along and give me your opinoin on my talk to me board. Basically, the doctor has to inject dye into your uterus. But that isn't it. Before you even get to that point, you have to lay on a (in my case cold) x ray table, the doc puts in the spectrum, cleans off your cervix, (think pap smear with a big sponge). Then the icky part. The doc has to clamp your cervix, I think so it doesn't move. OMG did it hurt. I thought for a second there I was going to start crying on the table. Then the inject the dye in. It's not so much pain as it is extremely crampy. I know that once I have to push a kid out of me this will seem like nothing, but I ache and am crampy right now, so I will whine a little.
Doctor's Appt and Bloodwork, bloodwork, bloodwork
Ok, I had an appt on CD3 (last Thursday). She did a quick pelvic to check for cysts, set up my HSG test for CD10 (which for some reason she changed to CD9), gave me presciptions for Clomid 100mg from CD5-9, my antibotics for the tests and sent me for bloodwork. I don't have good veins, so I don't like having blood drawn no matter how much. I know that, but apparently I forgot to tell my doc that. So, I went. The woman was a very nice lady. She checked my right arm. I have a really good vein close to the surface, but it's hard to get in less you know what you are doing. Last time I gave blood they took it from that vein. Well, she didn't, so of course she's digging around in there with the needle before she decides she will try the other arm. Ok, that's the deep vein arm. Good luck. Well, she found a deep one that she could feel with her finger, but not with the glove on, so we got what we needed and away I went.
My doc called on Monday to change my HSG test and tell me that I had to come in for a whole pregnancy testing or something. Ok, I went last night. Oh that was fun. Not the same woman, so we start all over. She won't touch the vein close to the surface and can't feel on in the left arm. And I was cold, so my blood wasn't pumping like it should have been. It's Wisconsin people. It's like 10 degree outside right now. I think we had a high of like 19 yesterday... of course I was cold. So, she ended up taking a vial from a vein on the top of my left hand. Ouch that stung a little and I have a 2 inch long bruise from it. So, after my test today, I had to go and have more drawn. I am so over having blood drawn. 3 times in a week. ENOUGH. Well, this young girl, who looked not even as old as I am, came to get me. I am not one of those people who think that young people can't do things, complete opposite. I informed her of my issues and she agreed after she looked. She said she needed help. Heck girl, go get help I do not blame you one bit for it. So this other woman comes. She agrees and checks my right arm again. She decided to go for the surface vein and got it. It's was a really small needle that she used and I think the little ones hurt more than the big ones. So, now I wait.
What's Next:
Well, if I don't ovulate or get a period by CD30, I am supposed to call my doctor.
If I don't ovulate she said that she will up my dose of clomid (that costs $45
for the 10 50mg pills with insurance). If I ovulate and aren't pregnant in the
next 3 months, then we will have to for the SA for dh, Jake. And we decide where
to go from there. My last couple of cycles have been right around 35 days, so
that means that I will most likely ovulate in like a week and half. If my body
holds to the way of the last 2 cycles, I ovulate around CD20. Maybe Jake and
I will have to practice a little this week for next week.
BTW, I am giving myself 3 months from January 25 to quit smoking. Unless of course I get pregnant. Anyone have any suggestions that have worked for them or someone they know. I can't chew gum do to a jaw issue. Just wondering if the patch worked for someone.
Come talk to me....
