Doctor Appt

January 3, 2007

CD#16

Well, Hello Everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful new year. Jake and I stayed home all day on Sunday. The only time we left (and got out of our pjs) was to go to the grocery store and video store. It was great. We turn on the new year's special right as the ball started to fall and went to bed shortly after. It was one of the best new year's eves that we have had. As for my birthday, not as good. I had a wonderful day at work, my co workers got me a card, took me for lunch and bought me a cake. But my dh bowled. What a slug. He decided that bowling was more important than taking me for dinner, so my good friend took me and we had a blast. Plus, my parents bought me a garbage disposal for my birthday, so I was super excited.

I finally had my doctor's appt today. Now, I made the decision this summer to change to a new female doctor that was coming to our immediate area. This was the 2nd time I saw her. The doc that I was seeing was in our area, but moved to a different office about 40 mins away. Jake and I decided that if we were going to have kids that it would be better for me to have a doctor close to us. Plus, she made me feel funny when I told her last year at my annual that we wanted to start for kids. I had to pry all my info out of her. Boy am I glad I changed. She is great. She talked through all the things that we are going to be doing to see what is wrong with me. And to top it off, she would rather have all the info now than trying clomid for a couple months just to find out that Jake's boys are a little low or that my tubes are blocked.
So, I am on CD16. If I don't ovulate by CD30, I am to start the provera again to jump start my period. Then as soon as I get it I have to call and schedule some CD3 blood work, a quick pelvic to check for cysts, and get a prescription for Clomid to start on CD5-10. I think it will be 100mg because she said that I would be taking 2 pills a day to get the dose she wanted for me. I will ask her then. Then on CD10 we are going to do a HSG to see about my tubes and more blood work. (Have I ever told everyone that I don't like needles and I don't give blood well. The national blood bank told me when I was in High School not to come back the next year.) Sometime while I am getting injected with dye and poked with needles, Jake has to go give a sample. My doc sends all her SAs to a bigger hospital that they do the test at, that way we don't have to worry about the sample being off because of time and travel. So, he has to go to the hospital, sit in a little room with whatever stuff he needs to do his thing. Hoping a picture of me will do it. ;) He can do this any time between now and my HSG test. Then about a week after my HSG test, we will meet and go over all the stuff and see where to go from there.
So, after her asking me about 10 times if I had any questions I left not knowing if I should be crying or happy that I was actually doing this. I did ask my doc if my weight, smoking and/or stress had anything to do with me not ovulating. Oh, btw she doesn't think I ovulated last cycle, she thinks it was the hormones from the provera elevating my temps. Anyways, she said that they have found that losing weight, even 10lbs can help, but isn't necessary. Smoking really doesn't have too much affect on ovulation, but she recommended me quit because I won't be smoking when I am pregnant so I might as well start now. And stress she said can, because of the hormones your body gives off when you are stressed, but she doesn't think that is my problem. But then again. We don't know what is yet.
Those 2 things, smoking and losing weight just happen to be my new year's resolutions, along with getting some of our bills paid off. So, wish me luck.
Alright, I think I have babbled enough.

My Question of the Week:
Has anyone ever done a HSG?? Was it bad? Come post on my  Talk To Me board. I am a hoverer and check it at least once a day during the week.

Here's throwing some baby dust to you kid....
