A realization for those who are infertile 11.08.09
November 8, 2009
I bathed cheeky monkey man tonight. He hates baths. He hates being naked really... someone said he's insecure, honestly I just pray he hates being naked--and that he continues on that path til he's at least 18.
After I finished bathing him, and soothing him back to his normal happy self, I took him into his room where I placed him onto his changing table to apply lotion to his skin and prepare him for bed (putting on his sleeper, etc.). He began wailing out crying, pretty hard really. I knew there was nothing detrimentally wrong with him and that what he needed was to be loved and fed, but first he had to get ready for bed. As I finished I picked him up and said something to him that made me cry--knowing that through these past four years this is what God has said to me, and I refused to hear it...
"My child. I love you, and your cry pains me to hear. I know that you're fine. I know what you need without you even asking it. You must, however, realize that this time is meant for other things... and that when you've finished this task you will reap all that you desire. First, you must finish what you need to do."
So, look towards your future as something that you WILL achieve. Remember, there are many paths to parenthood... and sometimes the path you feel you're on isn't necessarily the path you should be traveling through. Look towards where you're meant to be, rather than where you want to be, and travel that journey. The rewards at the end are beyond amazing.
