Anniversary
August 11, 2006
Red... the color of love (and dh's favorite color too!).
So, today is two years since the day Eddie proposed. Shocking eh? Just two years. And, in a short while we'll have been married for a whole year! Yikes
!! Some of my friends on iP remember when Eddie and I first started dating. It started slow, and I was bored... bored easily. Then immediately I felt comfortable and knew within a month that we were going to be married. This entry is going to be dedicated to him, and our "courtship"...
The many "coincidences" (aka, the way God and my Grandma brought us together).
'we had the same pediatrician as children
'he had friends who lived next door to my Grandparents (the same set of grandparents you'll see throughout this entry).
'we hung out within the same group of friends as teenagers, and I actually dated three of his friends.
'his best friend was my boss as a late teenager at a burger joint.
'his social security number IS the exact number of my grandparents phone number, with the addition of two numbers at the end.
'his birthday is the day after my grandmothers.
'we were married on what would have been my grandparents 57'th wedding anniversary (and planned the date without the knowledge that it was their anniversary)
Things never cease to amaze me about how we were brought together though. After all that, it was a Cub's chatroom on Yahoo that brought us together. We met online, exchanged phone numbers, and talked for the first time on Valentines day! We were trying to plan when we'd go on a date, however I had a date that night (I was dating, not serious with anyone) and it was Valentines--not the most opportune for a first date. So, we ended up going out the next night, Feb. 15. We've been pretty inseperable since.
When Eddie proposed....
We'd been talking about it for a while, but hadn't made any definate plans or put any money down for anything at that point. Then, the week of Aug 8 I found out the following Saturday I had a baby shower to go to and then Sunday was our family reunion. So... I came to Eddie and said "If you're going to do it, please do it this week sometime because of the shower and reunion, that way we can announce it without having to send cards or whatever out". That Wednesday Eddie planned a night at Navy Pier, in Chicago. We went to watch fireworks and have dinner. ...his trying to be romantic and my trying to be cheap had us eating at the McDonalds there. hah!
After the fireworks we were walking down the pier just talking. We saw the Odysee docking area so we stopped and just looked out onto the lake. We began kissing and after a short while he somewhat pushed me back. Mind you, my back was facing the lake so if I would have stepped back I could have fallen into the lake! While he was pushing me back I grabbed onto him and began yelling pretty bad. I swore at him and then some because he was pushing me back, towards the lake! He said "But I have to ask you something!" So... I screamed back "you have to ask me so you push me in the lake?!". ...it went on and on while he was trying to propose I continued yelling at him. At the end he pulled out the ring box and said "Will you marry me".
Mind you... the entire pre-proposal shopping time I continued telling him "I want big because I will not upgrade. What you give me is what I keep forever". I intentionally told him this so that I would get a full carat... so when I saw my 2.25 ct ring I flipped! I screamed "NO!" (out of excitement, not being upset) just as he was saying "Will you marry me". Which again, added into the comic-ness that is us. I love my ring and wouldn't trade it for the world. I get compliments on it all the time and still, two years later I still enjoy watching it sparkle as I drive or sit in the house. One day I'll take a picture and put it on here.
So... that's about all. The wedding planning was fun, exciting, and in the end horrible. The wedding day was horrible... but the marriage has been awesome and filling! I love him with all my heart and am infamous for saying "it's amazing how when someone is your worst enemy at the time you can still love them so much". (which honestly, isn't very often!).
On the ttc front...
I'm on day 15 and don't think I've ovulated yet. I haven't yet had a temp drop, haven't had a temp spike... yet Monday (I believe) after the waking temp, my temp dropped and the cm was perfect for ovulation... but the temps on tues and still through today are all still within the norm of 96.2-96.5.
Last month I o'd between days 13-14, so this month I'm baffled. They doubled the dosage of clomid, so you'd think I would surely ovulate... and I figured it would be earlier... so if anyone has any idea about it, please post on my ttmb!!!
Til next time ladies... ***~+baby dust+~***
