ttc info
August 1, 2006
Okay folks... I began reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". (aka tcoyf on precon). I bought it last week after talking with the ob/gyn about why we didn't conceive last month.
Alas... I have a few tips for any and all (especially for those of us on clomid).
Apparently clomid causes CM to be non-existent.
So... they advise to use PLAIN Robbitussin, 2tsp 3Xday for at least a week before ovulation. ...I'm planning on starting today. I have to go to walgreens and get some :)
The book also said that if you didn't get ewcm (egg white cervical mucus) that you can actually use egg white,
but they also warn that you can have problems with salminila (sp?) so... to each his own.
I thought the majority of fertility and ovulation timing was based on temping... which I'm doing. But, apparently it's far more closer to the cm. So... for those of us with problems having enough progesterone towards the end of the cycle we're kinda screwed in really trully finding out when we ovulate (in advance)?
I don't know about all that... regardless we're going to go at it as much as possible this month. I also was under the notion that you could NOT do it more than once every other day... while that is only pertaining to men with a low sperm count.
...interesting eh?
It also says in the book that if your temp doesn't drop by 20dpo that you are more than likely pregnant.
Which I guess works if you have a semi-normal cycle but then there are those of us who have a 34 day cycle who very well may have a temp that doesn't drop til day 35 or cycle day one. ...so not sure about all that either.
The book has been very informative though, which I'm thankful for :) I just want to read more of it and then again I don't want to be overwhelmed.... cause that happens really quickly.
The book advised checking the position of your cervix too.
...I tried, I really did, but I didn't feel ANYTHING. So... not sure what was up with that.
I feel like I'm babbling about nothing but regardless, maybe, hopefully, this will help someone :)
ON our ttc front: ![]()
we're on day 6, clomid day 3, and are more aware of what's going on and therefore more anticipatory of it happening this cycle. So... it's good and it's bad.
And, a question for any readers :)
Do you find that after ttc for a long period of time that you don't have as strong of a desire to bd/bbd?
It's somewhat frustrating but both of us are at the same point where we want to try but we don't really want to do it outside of that.... which isn't good either.
Anyhow I think that's about it for now :)
Oh... and let me tell you. A coworker brought her grandson to breakfast with us last week. I went to pick him up and hold him and my other coworker said "be careful, it may be contagious. No wait... you keep him if it is!".
...funny the support I get :)
+++Love and baby dust to us all+++
