Looking back...

June 19, 2006

I'm so excited to be here and to document my struggles and hopefully the day we become pregnant... YAY! Thank you Shel for that opportunity! Looking back on my intro, I was shocked to read about the regulated periods and the cycle that was MIA after the wedding. Because I've had so many times of irregular menstration I attributed it to the stress while low-and-behold we were pregnant. We didn't find out til we miscarried... which made it a bit better, because we weren't anticipating anything. Overall, both Eddie and I were just excited to know that we were actually able to conceive! During our honeymoon Eddie and I talked about how long we wanted to wait. Eddie said that he wanted a baby before he turned 32. Well, that isn't going to happen since he's less than 9 months from being 32 now! But, we're still working on it, and as I said before, I'm excited to document it and hopefully gain some friendships through this. My period became irregular again after trying some different conception drugs from the health food store for regulating hormonal issues, as I was diagnosed with PCOS early in the year. I made an appt. with my ob/gyn for June 7, at which point she said she would give me Provera to get my cycle back again and then on day 3 of my cycle we start Clomid! She is very optimistic about us conceiving, which we're both excited about! She said that once we get the right dosage of medication (Clomid) that she anticipates no longer than three months of us trying. However, this means that until we get the right dosage I have to temp and use OPK's. Such fun. Oh, and we will be bd'ing every other day once my cycle stops (she said 3 times a week). So... I'm on day five of the Provera and no cycle yet. But... I'll update when that happens, of course. A little background information, again? We have three boys now, Cubbie, Maddux, and Wrigley. They are our puppies! Cubbie is a six year old Shih tzu, Maddux is a two year old Mini-pinscher/golden retriever, and Wrigley is a Chow/Black Lab mix. We love 'em to death but are at our whit's end with them right now because they are getting older and more destructive as the days go on. They're being neutered today and will begin obedience classes soon too. We're also looking to expand in our home, by moving. We're hoping to buy by this next fall but if we end up waiting til spring, that's fine too. That's about it for now, take care... and if I can find the ttmboards I'll talk with you all later! Thanks for reading! ~Amanda~
