January 1, 2007

Hi Everybody!

Just wanted to quickly update a few of ya about what's "planned" now that we're past the holiday season and going to begin ttc again...

1. both dh and I are calling our dr's tomorrow and scheduling appt's.  His to discuss the results of his labwork and mine to get back in the swing of things and hopefully get a referal to an RE.

2. as a "resolution" we resolved to give more time to love making... and to do so every other day.  To simply give time to one another and to "us".  To put our attention away from the stressors of the world and isolate ourselves into a short period of time to be together again.  We started today and "yay" whatta time!

3. we sat with a pen and paper and wrote down what the monthly bills are (I knew an approx. but not exacts) and wrote a new budget.  With that we're going to write every penny that we spend down and we're minimizing ourselves to a $50 budget weekly for food/fuel/entertainment (each).  With that, the goal is to estimate higher and expect less pay-wise, so that we can still save money (the goal is $200 a month) and try to pay bills up faster (and in advance) for if/when we do get pregnant and a baby comes!

4. we're eating healthier and are packing more food from home for when we aren't home (lunches, etc).  I made "egg mc muffins" at home so dh can take them in the morning on his way to work (I prefer to eat sugar free oatmeal and chai tea in the morning).  We're also using ONLY whole grain breads/pasta's.  I can't live without them but I know the whole grain is less likely to mess with insulin as much as regular carb-containing starches do.

5. most importantly... we're praying together.  We've been attending church more frequently but the faithful reading and praying together will surely not hurt anything, right?

I don't know if I told anyone but dh and I planned on doing an M&M's nursery.  The thought was to paint the nursery this color green... which really is more neutral than you'd think since the green M&M is a girl!  A friend brought back a catalog from the M&M World in Las Vegas (we were supposed to go but didn't do to dh's inability to get off work).  I found a lot of pillows/stuffed people that I'd like to order when we do get closer to that time, and along with that I decopaged a lamp shade with M&M wrappers this week.  I have several items that are decopaged with M&M wrappers, since it's expensive and difficult to find memorabilia with M&M's on them!  I just continue to anticipate that this little one will be coming... and I pray it'll be in 2007!

May God be the Glory... and may we all become parents this year!  (adoption, conception, or surrogately).

Happy New Year to you all...

Amanda
