Helen's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

All is well so far:O)

January 20, 2007

8 Weeks and 2 days

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all doing well, Anne how's it going?

I am fine and so is baby bump as far as I know. I had an early viability scan at 6 weeks and 5 days dated from my O date on CD17 and they measured the bean as being 7 weeks and 1 day, which would mean that going by my LMP date would be better as that would have put me at 7 weeks that day and means that my baby was virtually measuring spot on. We also got hear the heartbeat via the ultrasound and see my little bean. it was such a relief to know that a) there was a baby in there and b) that it had managed to get as far as having a heartbeat, this was very reassuring as I was totally paranoid that something would go wrong.

I have noticed that my other pictures that I posted didn't work or you can't view them, so I hope this one works, here's a piccie of my little Bean:

I have a feeling that didn't work, so I give up, maybe in another diary entry I'll work out how to get these pictures to upload successfully!

So anyway, morning sickness finally kicked in and everymorning I feel really nauseous and I have been sick once, it's not very nice but worth it to know I have a baby inside me. Apart from that there haven't really been anymore developments.

I will be seeing my midwife for my first appointment on Wednesday the 24th, so I'm looking forward to that and I'll ask her about the Nuchal scan. I don't really care whether my child has Downs or not, obviously I hope not, but I mean if it does have it, I'll love it just the same. The test really is so we could prepare shouold anything be wrong and also the place where I had my first scan does a blood test, which not only makes the test 92% accurate, but I would get an ultra sound at 10 weeks and then again at 12 weeks, just more opportunity to see my little bean really. The NHS in my area do not offer this test, so I'd have to have i done private, I'll see what my midwife says and whether there is a specific place I should go to have it done.

So apart from that, that's all there is to share really. When I have more time, I'll get these pictures working and soon I'll have to move over to the pregnancy boards,

Here;s some messages to all the other diary writers:

Amanda, great news that your DH's count was good, I really hope the testosterone cream and cinnamon extract work for you and that you O n your own and get pregnant, otherwise I pray you get your AF naturally and that you finally get pregnant by October, good luck.

Anj, so sorry to hear that AF came, I had been looking at your diary every day for your update and was gutted for you to see that it wasn't to be this month. It's a good idea to get the SA done first as this is so simple compared to what they will need to put you through. I totally understand about your DH's embarrassment, my DH was the same but luckily we were allowed to do it at home and take it to the hospital within an hour. They do the test in the same hospital etc which is why we get an hour, I beleive that is the USA, the sample is transferred to different labs for testing, I hope that he can do it in the room or that they let him take it in from home.

Welcom Ashley and good luck with TC.

Jenn, where are you? Congrats on having perfect tubes, I hope you get to O and all works out for you and that your husbands supersperm can find that egg, good luck and keep us updated.

Hi Kasie and welcome to the diaries, I hope you managed to get some decnt BD in on time and that this is your month. I don't want to caus you alarm or anything, but + OPK's do not necessarily mean you are O'ing. I used to get them every month and yet I wasn't O;ing, basically my body would get ready to O but never release an egg, so if you haven't conceived after a year it will be worth you seeing an RE, even if you believe you are O'ing which I am sure you are:O) Take care and good luck.

Shannon, yay for your Peak, the sticks are interesting arn't they. What you were seeing with the lines on the pee stick is a lin that measures Estrogen and a line that measures LH, there is no test line. You will normally see one line getting darker as you approach O, that's you estrogen line and your LH line will stay faint. When the estrogen line gets to a certain intensity your monitor wil start showing the high signal. you will then start noticing the LH line slowly getting darker and all of a sudden, the LH line will become very dark and the Estrogen line will become very faint, this is when the monitor turns to Peak as it detects your LH surge. Hope that wasn't too confusing. Once again, see what I said to Anj about the SA, I hope it all works out for you.

Tiffany, I'm so sorry to hear of all the troubles you are going through righht now! I hope your DH finds a nw job real soon, how horrible to be laid off and scary at that. Also, your poor FIL, I hope so much they can help him, it must be very worrying for you and your family, Big hugs to you. As with TTC, I hope that the Clomid and Met can work for you and that you conceive real soon.

Anyone else I haven't mentioned, good luck and baby dust.

Love to all and tak care,

Love Helen xxxxxx
