Downsize. If you know your job is what's killing your sex drive, make changes now rather than later. Brette Sember, a lawyer in Clarence, N.Y., remembers the agony of trying to conceive and keep up with a solo law practice that dealt with family court and matrimonial law. "It was hugely stressful," Sember says. "Finally, I decided to move my office into our house and cut back my practice. This was the plan for after the baby anyhow. Once I made the decision to do this, I was able to conceive, after about 9 months of trying."
Take care. The minute you become pregnant you are taking care of someone other than yourself. Preconception is the time to put yourself first. Journal. Try yoga. Paint. Find some peace in your daily life. Get to know the woman before you become a mother. In the words of Dr. Paul, "Until the woman learns to take responsibility for her own feelings and needs, her deeper unconscious part may prevent her from becoming pregnant."
