Read and actively use resources such as 1001 Ways to Be Romantic (Casablanca Press, 1999), Recipes for Romance (New World Library, 1996) or Passionate Hearts (New World Library, 2nd ed., 2006). Tips in these books can't help but tell your mate he/she is special! I have used some of the tips in these books, and they went a long way toward telling my spouse how special he was. Once I blew up over 500 pink, white and red balloons and decorated his office with them and loads of crepe paper for Valentine's Day.
Leave a message in Valentine's hearts for him on his desk. Take children's Valentines and plaster them all over the inside of his car/truck. Record your song over and over again on a tape and stick it in his/her car. If he/she takes a lunch to work, just slip a simple love note inside when your spouse is not looking. Remember: It can be Valentine's Day any day of the year!
Consider skipping a month when you are trying to conceive. This does wonders for peace of mind and your love life.
Remember that the two of you already are a family. As much as you want that bundle of joy, the days of quiet evenings, free time and privacy will be gone for good once the baby arrives. Enjoy your time together. Make the most of it! Make your existing family as strong as it can be.
Finally, if you still cannot quit obsessing about when to "do it" or eel like something is missing or slipping away from your relationship with your partner, consider joining a group such as RESOLVE. Talking with others who are also in your shoes does a world of good.
